ABOUT THIS EVENT /
The Trey & Boo Classic Basketball tournament was named after 2 former William Penn "York High" students who were killed in York, Pa due to violence. Catrell "Trey" McCanic AND Ricardo "Boo" Banks were star athletes for York High at different times and both had dreams to make it to the next level in the sport they both loved. This tournament is an annual tournament that will take place every year on the last weekend in june in York, Pa to bring the community together for a good weekend at the park while watching some of the best basketball players from PA and the surrounding states compete in this highly competitve tournament in memory of Trey & Boo. There are youth activities, Live DJ's , vendor opportunities, youth performances & more.
The Mission for this event is to bring the community together every summer in hopes that we can build on this positive weekend going forward as well as provide the youth & adults with something to look forward to every summer. And to also simply show that we CAN come together as a whole and do positive things in the inner city with success. Eventually we want to be able to provide a scholarship for a student athlete that plays basketball to carry out the dreams of TREY & BOO on the next level which is college. So every year we want to pick a student athlete who meets the requirements set in place and present them with the TREY & BOO CLASSIC scholarship.
